Applications are invited for two group leader positions, as the Centre now will expand the present program of comparative molecular biology. Projects may address life processes in various phyla, including fish and tunicates, using one or several of the following approaches:
- molecular and cell biology
- developmental biology
- functional genomics
- bioinformatics
Group leaders are offered a six-year contract with the possibility of prolongation. Research groups will be allocated with fairly competitive resources depending on the qualification and infrastructure that are immediately available. The size of the groups may also be further increased through external funding. The Sars International Centre conducts basic research in marine molecular biology, and has five research groups with major focus on the tunicate Oikopleura dioica and the zebrafish. The Centre is located in modern facilities at the Bergen High Technology Centre together with several departments of the University of Bergen.
Applications including a complete CV with referees, a letter of motivation and a five pages research project should be marked “03/sars05U” and sent no later than 15 April 2003 to:
